Meet our new app and the woman behind it!
I’ll admit it, I’m a bit of an app-addict. With my phone being an extension of myself, the apps on it make me feel like I’ve got the world at my fingertips: from the weather to the stars (tip: try SkyView, it’s a hand-held planetarium!) to those hard-to-get Charlotte Olympia heels.
So when we decided to create a mobile app for the marlies|dekkers brand, it had to be absolutely perfect. Sexy, stable, fast and polished. Like a Rolls Royce. Or the perfect lover.
marlies: Maryam, you are one of the e-commerce wizards who made it happen. I am so proud! Tell me what’s so amazing about our app.
maryam: Thank you! Well, first of all, it’s completely responsive.
marlies: Like a good lover!
maryam: Haha, yes! It moves with you, in the sense that it adapts to what device you’re using and the mood you’re in. You may be having a quick scroll on your phone on the bus, or you’re chilling at home on your tablet, in which case you might want to use the landscape modus to get a better view. Our app responds to your needs. Secondly, it’s seductive. Once you’ve created your account with us you can log in from any device and fnd yourself in your own personalized marlies|dekkers shopping environment. Your size, your address, your earlier purchases; everything is right here. Then, actually buying something is only a few clicks away!
marlies: I love that! I’m not a fan of having to fill out tons of forms. You don’t want to feel like a secretary each time you buy something..
maryam: You don’t! Also, the app is fast. When you visit a mobile site, you are depending on your data network, which might at times be quite slow.
marlies: Like when you’re abroad.
maryam: Exactly. In which case it could take ages to pull up a page with pictures of products. But once you click on our app, all pictures have already been downloaded in there! So you can navigate so much faster. It gives you time to check out our lookbooks, get inspired…
marlies: Or compile a wish list! I have to say, that’s one of my favorite things to do. And you don’t lose the list when you log out, right?
maryam: It’s right there when you log in again.
marlies: You know what I think is quite sexy? The fact that you can send that wish list to someone else too. Maybe your lover? I believe in facilitating seduction..
maryam: Right on! Even if you’re not planning to shop online at that moment, our app is a wonderful environment to get inspiration, to get in the mood! And last but not least, the app allows us to send you push-notifcations, so you can be the frst to fnd out about special deals, sales and the latest products.
