From day one marlies|dekkers had a clear goal: to make beautiful lingerie and swimwear with an empowering message in a way that respects both people and the environment. Together with our partners, we make high-quality and durable products, putting lots of love and effort into the process to make sure you can wear our products for years. Our latest step, becoming a Certified B Corporation - aka a 'BCorp' - shows you how far we've come. A real milestone! To become a member of this global network of organizations that balance profit with purpose, our entire social and environmental impact was rigorously measured. Every decision made within our company has to be true to our mission. To facilitate this, we created a Code of Conduct*, ensuring that we can work together to produce responsibly. Using environmental and social key performance indicators helps us stay on track. Since transparency is very important to us, we have vowed to share our long-term goals and plans with our partners and stakeholders.

To us, being fair and equal stands for creating fair jobs while promoting equal treatment. It means that we will do everything we can to make sure that human rights are respected within the company and across our supplychain. Being passionate about this, we regularly check our sewing facilities and practices in Asia, and we have become a member of Amfori-BSCI. By ensuring that everyone who works in our partners' factories earns a living wage, we aim to raise living standards. We believe that this benefits not only the employees, but also their families and communities. It's not more than 'fair', is it?

'Dare to dream, dare to grow, dare to be' - Marlies Dekkers' motto perfectly encompasses the core mission of our brand: female empowerment. It's in the confidence-boosting designs and the superior quality of the products but extends into many other platforms. Take our Feminine Feminist magazine and social media channels, where we embrace diversity and offer women from all over the world the stage to inspire us with their stories. For our female factory workers in Asia, we created a special training program called Bringing Females Forward (B.F.F.). You know what they say: empowered women empower women!

SUSTAINABLE SOLUTIONS

Designing a durable product and advancing the use of responsible and ethically produced materials are some of the main priorities in reducing our environmental footprint. One of our goals is to find sustainable solutions for all materials we use. We have embraced digital textile printing, for example, which saves energy and an average of 60 liters of water per meter. Our packaging is 100% recycled and recyclable, while 95% of our products are shipped by sea. Fun, sustainable fact: in 2019 we replaced the plastic cones that keep our bras safe during transportation with paper pulp versions. Sometimes, it's in the details.
