Marlies to Zilver: When you look in the mirror, what do you see? No, I’m not talking about a quick peek to check your make-up or a stolen glance at a reflective store window. REALLY take a look. Get in front of a mirror, close your eyes, then slowly open them. Can you see YOU in your reflection? 25 years ago I started marlies|dekkers with a mission; to empower women worldwide to be the masters of their own destiny and inspire them to unlock their full potential. And even though it has been an incredible journey with many victories that I’m proud of… we’re not there yet! I can honestly state, with complete conviction, that my biggest competitor is the mirror. For more than 25 years I’ve been giving lectures and interviews, inspiring women to make their dreams come true, and the no. 1 question I always get is: when do you know if you have failed or succeeded? My only answer is; you DON’T! Trust me, I know there will be many bumps in the road, insecurities trying to stop you and even people telling you that you can’t do it. But in the end, there’s really only one person that can stop you: that woman in the mirror… YOU.
Are you ready to start designing your own future? Only you have to power to create the reality you want for yourself. And maybe even more important, to set an example for our daughters, and eventually their daughters…
