Believe in Magic
"Why would I wake up in the middle of the night to see some lumps of rock on fire?", my friend said when I invited her to watch a meteor shower.
"Why would I wake up in the middle of the night to see some lumps of rock on fire?", my friend said when I invited her to watch a meteor shower.
Even though she had arrived on Ibiza feeling burnt-out and sad, she clearly hadn't lost her sense of humor. That night, we were laying on the cliffs together, gazing up at the twinkling stars. "Doesn't this remind you of the magical connection between the cosmos and our lives?" I whispered. "You dork," my friend laughed, but in the silence that followed, I could feel something softening in her. Perhaps it was the presence of 'lovers rock' Es Vedra, rising majestically from the sea nearby.
Perhaps it was the sighting of the first shooting star. But when I looked over, I saw a single tear rolling down her cheek. And I knew she was going to be just fine."
