I believe in turning yourself on

I believe in turning yourself on

According to a recent study, ‘men have more varied sexual fantasies than women’. We have some catching up to do, ladies! Let’s start now, by taking that sexy selfie one step further.

Have you ever taken a sexy selfie? I bet you have. And I bet it turned you on. Maybe you shared it on Instagram or with your lover, maybe you kept it for yourself or even deleted it! It doesn’t matter; while you were taking that picture, you were not comparing yourself to Gisele Bundchen or Kim Kardashian, you were just thinking: ‘Goddamn, I am HOT!’ You were claiming your own unique beauty, and you were shameless about it. Now, I want you to take it one step further. How about writing down your secret sexual fantasy? How about digging deep and finding out what REALLY turns you on? Like a sexy selfie, but in words.

According to a recent survey held in Canada amongst 1500 adults, 65% of women are interested in being dominated. That means most of you like to be told what to do! Perfect! Because I have homework for you. I want you to sit down, get comfortable, and set an alarm for 10 minutes. Grab a piece of paper or your phone (make sure it’s on airplane mode, no distracting yourself with cat videos), and think of a situation that would really turn you on.

These are the only rules:
1. Keep writing for at least 10 minutes. Don’t stop, don’t give up, even if you feel ridiculous or uninspired.
2. Be absolutely shameless. There are no ‘bad’ fantasies. The sky’s the limit!
3. Write this story either for yourself or for a lover, real or fantasy. Nobody else needs to see it.

The reason I want you to share your fantasy is because I truly believe that women need to explore what turns them on. Let’s inspire each other! In the same Canadian studies that I mentioned earlier, it appeared ‘that men have more varied sexual fantasies than women, describe them more vividly, and want them to come true (unlike women).’

We have some catching up to do, ladies! I’ll start. In my next blog, I will be sharing an absolutely shameless fantasy I had during a stop over in Atlanta recently. Here’s a teaser:
“After a while, I feel myself arching my back, pushing my butt up towards his hands. The energy in the room shifts as he slowly pulls the cover down, exposing my naked, yearning body.”
To be continued…

In January, I presented my newest FW20 collection during a show full of dance and entertainment in Rotterdam. All my work as a feminist designer is inspired by muses, powerful female icons from past and present. And for FW20, my muse will be crime writer Agatha Christie. A few months from now, you will get to discover the collections, and see how they tell stories like Agatha’s thrilling books do..

Bram shared some interesting alternatives with me, from throwing out our phones to running ‘till we puke’.
