Killer curves, a dazzling sex appeal and a whiff of scandal: Mata Hari was the Kim Kardashian of her time. And, like the Kardashians, the Dutchborn exotic dancer (1876 - 1917) knew how to capitalize on her glorious assets: during her heyday, she received 10,000 francs (37,000 euros now) per show, her face gracing cigarette packs, liquor bottles and magazine covers. "I want to live like a colorful butterfly in the sun," the professional seductress once said. To keep her lavish lifestyle, even after the highlight of her career, Mata Hari would do anything. Even risk her life as a spy.

Margaretha Geertruida Zelle was born ready for adventure. Confident and outgoing, she would be described as 'slender and tall with the flexible grace of a wild animal, and with blue-black hair'. At 18, Margaretha married an officer on leave from the Dutch East Indies after answering his contact ad. "I am a woman who enjoys herself very much; sometimes I lose, sometimes I win," she once said, and during her time in Indonesia she would lose a lot - her son and her marriage - but win a whole new identity. After falling in love with traditional Indonesian dance, Margaretha was reborn as 'Mata Hari': 'Eye of the Day' in Malay. Paris was calling.

Feline, flirtatious and feminine: Mata Hari's 'erotic temple dance' was an ode to the femme fatale and a financial goldmine. Still, Margaretha took many lovers - powerful politicians and high-ranking officers - that doubled as 'sugar daddies', becoming important contacts for her spy activities during the war. Her main motivation? A mix of love and money. Her power? Seduction. Sadly, the alleged double-agent soon got caught in her own web. After being accused by the French of being a German spy, the legendary temptress, then 41, was executed. Refusing a blindfold, 'Mata Hari' faced the firing squad the way she had lived: with her head held high.

Dare to you use what you've got, to get what you want

Tease, tempt and turn yourself on in this luscious, lace-infused version of my iconic Peekaboo collection. What’s not to love about this gorgeous combination of playful cut-outs and sensual straps? The sand-colored lining underneath the recycled black lace creates a tantalizing see-through effect. As a flirty, final touch I added a scalloped trim and sassy satin bows. There’s something for everybody in this collection: a bodystocking, high-waist briefs and a comfortable, unpadded balcony bra (for B and C cups). Dare to be irresistible!
