Why Turning 50 Rocks!
I’m turning 50 this weekend. Can you believe it, 50! I think you should push yourself at any age, but there is something about the big five-0 that’s special. Basically, you’re at the midpoint of your life; it’s literally your midlife. You have one Louboutin in the grave.
So when I turn 50 on Sunday, I’m ready for an “Awakening”.
“The Awakening”, is a short-film I created this year. It is raw and provocative, capturing my thoughts on modern day feminism. I envisioned and created the film in honor of women. With this movie, I send a message to women all over the world; “Shed your old skin and free yourself from expectation; dare to take a bite from the apple.”
Together we can disarm the stereotypes that for far too long have misled our societies; that we (women) don’t have the skills, intelligence or the guts to accomplish. All we need is females thinking forward: women who understand that equality isn’t dependent on external factors; something passively received or violently acquired.
Women, who train their minds so that they feel powerful themselves. Women, who feel, think and radiate confidence. Not against, but in partnership with men. Ultimately we give progress to ourselves. We are the third movement; females moving forward.
The one gift I ask for, above all else, for my 50th Birthday is that you take the time to view “The Awakening” and share my movie with all the women you know.
Let’s collectively free ourselves from expectation and dare ourselves to take a bite from that apple!
4 ways to wear your pareo
Yes, a pareo is an excellent beach cover up. But did you know it can be so much more?
My three different shades of love
If you could wear only one colour of lingerie for the rest of your life, what colour would that be?
How to dress like (more than) a mother
Is there a dress code for mothers? Ten years ago, I figured it out with my daughter’s help…
Valentine’s top tip
With Valentine’s Day coming up, let’s talk #seduceyourself. To me, the summum of seduction is driving a man insane, just by exposing a glimpse of your wrist while pouring him tea. Can you imagine?
