Throughout history, female secret agents and spies have moved among the shadows to steal important information, using their feminine skills while taking on different personas to dazzle and distract. Sounds familiar? In a way, women have always been spies, masquerading to infiltrate 'enemy' territory, from politics and business to art and fashion. For generations, we've been honing the skills to 'steal' what we want in a world that refuses to give it to us. And boy, have we become masterful at it!
To shape her life and career - and ours! - Mistress of Masquerade Marlies Dekkers has infiltrated many forbidden worlds herself. We could write a spy novel about the daring, adventurous ways in which Marlies cracked the codes of seemingly impenetrable bastions of male elitism - but we don't want to give away too many secrets. My sensational ‘Spymistress’ lingerie collection was designed for women who dare to dance with danger. To give you a streamlined silhouette, I sculpted sleek shapes from deep-black, recycled microfiber. Crisscrossing straps- above the cups, on the back of the corset, across the cut-outs on the bottoms - create a delicious, dramatic effect and the illusion of lace-up corsetry. If you look closer, you’ll see that I added a thrilling spy-gadget twist. Thanks to the hardware-inspired metal fastenings and sliders, the straps look like they could double as spy rope, just in case you need a swift escape! The eye-catching ‘spy hook’ - official name: carabiner clip- at the heart of the bra is the epitome of multifunctional chic.
