Couture The Heroic Journey text

Joan of Arc evolved from a young and innocent girl into a strong female warrior. A female but dressed and fighting like a man, driven by her beliefs and being the inspiration for her entire army. This period of her life and the armory she wore inspired me to design this collection.

The Heroic Journey collection reflects the contrast between softness and hardness which was translated into the materials I chose. Softness can be found in the shiny microfiber, printed with a delicate design in a soft brownish-purple tone. The metal chain-web cover is inspired on the anguish Joan wore to protect her body during battle and represents hardness. To keep my designs delicate and feminine, I choose to enrich the inside of the cups with a print and used sophisticated finishing’s like a shiny metal piping along the cup edges as well as a beautiful custom made, woven shoulder-strap with the applicable text : “dare to be ~give yourself to yourself”
