Misia’s Parisian Hotspots
I think Paris is one of the sexiest cities in the world. It just buzzes with love, fashion and history! My muse for my latest Couture Collection, wealthy socialite Misia Sert, was once called the Queen of Paris. I recommend you visit these 3 places during your next stay in Paris and experience the magic of ‘Misia’s Paris’ for yourself.
1. Café de Flore- HQ of cool
This café, on Boulevard Saint-Germain (172), was THE hotspot of the Roaring Twenties, or ‘Années Folles’ as the French called them. Its classic Art Deco interior never changed, and it’s easy to imagine Misia sitting here, surrounded by drooling admirers. It’s still a popular hang-out for the hip and famous, so wear a snazzy LBD and keep your eyes peeled!
Tip: If you want to look like a regular sit inside, preferably at the back. Mandatory accessory: a good book.
2. Chanel Boutique- Coco’s Cocoon
Gabrielle ‘Coco’ Chanel always said that fashion wasn’t something ‘that exists in dresses only.’ According to Misia Sert’s BFF (LINK), fashion is everywhere; in the sky and in the street. Well, visit Rue Cambon 21, Chanel’s original boutique and apartment and BREATHE fashion! Make sure you check out the faceted mirrored spiral staircase that made it possible for Chanel to stand in one spot and see what was happening on every floor.
Tip: On a tight budget? Even small purchases -perfume or make up- will be wrapped and put in a gorgeous white Chanel bag.
3. Museé d’Orsay- Impressionist Superstars
During Misia’s lifetime, this was a busy railway station. How amazed would she be to find it it is now one of the world’s most famous and stunning art galleries! Get up close and personal with incredible works by artists like Monet, Degas, Renoir and Toulouse-Lautrec. Wouldn’t Misia would get a kick out of the fact that these impressionist superstars were once her poor protégés?
Tip: Order your tickets beforehand online and skip the lines. Also: the roof has the most breathtaking view of the City of Love.
We simply adore the city of love and to get you in the mood for an upcoming Parisian adventure we recommend the cheeky Misia Loves Coco set.

fall|winter 20 preview
In January, I presented my newest FW20 collection during a show full of dance and entertainment in Rotterdam. All my work as a feminist designer is inspired by muses, powerful female icons from past and present. And for FW20, my muse will be crime writer Agatha Christie. A few months from now, you will get to discover the collections, and see how they tell stories like Agatha’s thrilling books do..
