Building the Perfect Bra

by Marlies Dekkers

A bra is a bra, right? Wrong! Here is what to look for when you’re lingerie-shopping. We love to gush when our friends and customers confess that our Bras are the most comfortable they own. This means Marlies’ mission is complete! She wants you to be super comfortable, and feel sexy at the same time.

To achieve all of that in one bra we’ve worked long and hard over the years to assess what gravity does to our bodies and where we most need support.

When you’re buying your next bra, try and do the same. Look beyond the colour and the style, and focus on how it’s made. Here are the parts we suggest you focus on:

The Underwire

These greatly affect your shape and comfort. That’s why we created our very own wire a number of years back. Mass-produced brands use standard wires, made of cheaper materials. Be aware that those can break or poke through the fabric after a while. (Ouch!)

The Cups

Go ahead, squeeze them! If they’re molded, do they have a nice bounce? Does the foam seem ‘sweaty’ to you? In our next post we’ll explain what makes our molded cups so special.

The Wings

These are the side panels of the bra. Often overlooked, but very important in terms of support. Cheap materials will stretch out and ruin the whole fit of the bra. We use a special, very firm fabric for this.

The Straps

Here, we want firmness and again, great quality. Check out the width, especially if your girls are on the big side; you don’t want them cutting in the flesh of your shoulders, do you?

By buying the perfect bra, you buy freedom. Freedom to move around, without worrying about nipple-slips or other wardrobe malfunctions. We think nipple-slips should only be fully intentional!

Don’t ignore your emotions; they are much more powerful than you can imagine. By linking the magical world of emotions with hard science, Dutch scientist Pierre Capel, professor emeritus in experimental immunology, shows us the consequences of our feelings and the power of our minds. The message: we can do much more than we think. “Meditate. It’s the single best thing you can do for your health.”

The fact that I feel bikini-confident all year round is, of course, a nice bonus. But for me, the biggest payoff of following the keto diet is the way it optimizes my health and gives me tons of energy.

Super (skin) food

‘If you can’t eat it, why put it on your skin?’. I pretty much live by this beauty adage. After all, with your skin being one of your body’s largest organs, anything – and I mean anything! – you put onto your skin will end up in your bloodstream.
