Our own paradise

"According to an ancient Jewish text, Adam had a fun, fierce, fearless first wife who loved being on top during sex.

When Adam told her that her place was underneath him, literally and metaphorically, Lilith became furious. After all, they were equals, created from the same clay. Rather than submit, Lilith left Paradise... only to return as the snake who seduced Adam's second wife Eve to take a bite out of the Forbidden Fruit! (Speaking of a 'twist in the tail', right?). Growing up Catholic, Eve was my hero. By prioritizing knowledge and basically setting Paradise on fire, Eve taught me that although change isn't always easy, it's necessary for self-actualization. But Lilith's talecompleted the narrative for me, highlighting another necessity: to create a place where sensual pleasure is our birthright, and shame and guilt are banned.

Our own paradise, 'on top of' the world."
