My Firebird collection is designed for ladies on fire. I was inspired by a sensational ballet called The Firebird. Stravinsky’s story was brought to life by the twirling and swirling ballet dancers of Diaghilev’s Ballet Russes. Both men fell under the artistic protection of my muse Misia Sert. The red-hot costume of the firebird sparked my imagination. A mystical creature representing “the force of Good” symbolising qualities that might as well have described our queen of Paris: burning passion and irresistible optimism.
